Subject: - Resignation Letter

 

Sir,

       In response to my Association’s (Orissa Medical Services Association) Mass Resignation movement which was to culminate on 19th March, 2008, regarding low pay-scale, status, lack of promotional avenues, security at workplace and infrastructure facility, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Orissa declared a package, on the floor of the Orissa Legislative Assembly on 17th March, 2008, to give benefits to the doctors belonging to Orissa Medical Service cadre, which is yet to be fully implemented. The Govt. came out with a notification on 15th May, 2008 which contained a part of the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s declaration on the floor of the Assembly. The restructuring of the Orissa Medical Services cadre with sufficient promotional post at different levels which was to be completed and implemented within two months as per the declaration of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, has not been done even after a lapse of four months with air of uncertainty hanging around it, though my Association has submitted the same to the Govt. on 25th April, 2008, after the approval of the CEC OMSA. The legislation to prohibit violence against Medicare service persons and damage to property in Medicare service institutions is yet to be implemented.

       Three of my colleagues of the District Headquarter Hospital, Jajpur are suspended since January 2006 even after Hon’ble High Court’s passed order in favour of them. Off-season mass transfers without confirming to transparent transfer policy submitted to the Govt. by my Association on 25th April, 2008 and suspensions of my colleagues without assigning any reason are the order of the day.

       Under such studied humiliating conditions, I feel morally dejected and frustrated. Therefore, under pain and with broken heart, I decide to resign from the Orissa State Govt. Service from dated ……….…….. This may kindly be taken as one month’s notice from dated ……………...

 

       I assure the Govt. that after my resignation, I will be serving the suffering humanity with all dedication and devotion.
